Patenty Inc. (hereinafter "Company") complies with the Personal Information Protection Act and related laws to legally process and safely manage personal information for the protection of data subjects' freedom and rights.

This privacy policy has been prepared so that data subjects can easily check the processing status of personal information collected in the process of using the AI-based patent practice platform service (hereinafter "Service") provided by the Company.

2. Purpose of Personal Information Processing

The Company processes personal information for the following purposes:

  • Service provision and contract fulfillment: membership registration, identity verification, information provision according to service use
  • Service improvement and development: AI model performance improvement, user experience enhancement, new service development
  • Customer support: inquiry response, technical support, service failure response
  • Marketing and advertising: event information provision, customized service recommendation (only with consent)
  • Legal obligation fulfillment: obligation fulfillment according to related laws, dispute resolution

3. Personal Information Collection Items and Methods

A. Personal Information Items Collected

Required Information:

  • Email address, password, name
  • Service usage records, access logs, IP address
  • Payment information (when using subscription services)

Optional Information:

  • Profile photo, contact information, company information
  • Service usage preferences, custom settings information

B. Collection Methods

  • Direct input by users during membership registration and service use
  • Automatic collection during service use (cookies, log analysis)
  • Social login through partners or external platforms

4. Personal Information Use and Third-Party Provision

A. Personal Information Use

The Company uses collected personal information only within the scope of purposes specified in Article 2, and does not use it beyond the scope of purposes or provide it to third parties.

B. Third-Party Provision

The Company does not provide users' personal information to third parties in principle. However, exceptions are made in the following cases:

  • When users have given prior consent
  • When required by law or when there is a request from investigative agencies according to procedures and methods prescribed by law for investigative purposes
  • Business outsourcing necessary for service provision (refer to outsourcing status below)

5. Personal Information Retention Period

The Company destroys such information without delay after the purpose of personal information collection and use is achieved.

  • Member information: Until membership withdrawal (however, for the period if preservation is necessary according to related laws)
  • Service usage records: 3 years (Telecommunications Privacy Protection Act)
  • Payment records: 5 years (E-commerce Act)
  • Dispute handling records: 3 years (E-commerce Act)

6. Rights and Obligations of Data Subjects and Exercise Methods

Data subjects can exercise the following personal information protection-related rights against the Company at any time:

  • Request for notification of personal information processing status
  • Request for access to personal information
  • Request for correction and deletion of personal information
  • Request for suspension of personal information processing

The above rights can be exercised against the Company through written documents, telephone, email, fax, etc., and the Company will take action without delay.

8. Changes to Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies from the effective date, and if there are additions, deletions, and corrections of changes according to laws and policies, it will be announced through notices from 7 days before the implementation of changes.

9. Cookie Policy

The Company may use cookies to provide services. Cookies are small text files stored on computers when visiting websites, used to improve user convenience and service improvement.

Users can set cookie allowance, blocking, etc. through web browser settings, and if cookie settings are rejected, there may be restrictions on some service use.
