Question 1

What is Patenty?

Accepted Answer

Patenty is an AI workspace for patent professionals and IP teams. Use your invention materials to research prior art, draft claims and specifications, review documents, and prepare office action responses.

Question 2

How is Patenty different from other AI tools?

Accepted Answer

Patenty keeps invention materials, claims, specifications, and review history together by matter. Alongside drafting, you can examine prior art, compare and apply revisions, and restore earlier document versions within the same workflow.

Question 3

Which languages are supported?

Accepted Answer

The interface is available in Korean, English, Japanese, and Chinese. Document languages and filing jurisdictions can be selected within the relevant feature. Interface language and jurisdiction coverage are separate, so check the scope of the feature you plan to use.

Question 4

Can I try Patenty before subscribing?

Accepted Answer

A free account lets you create matters and manage documents. Core AI tasks require a paid plan and credits. Trial eligibility and included features depend on your account; check the pricing and checkout pages for your available offer.

Question 5

How do credits work?

Accepted Answer

AI tasks such as specification generation, prior art research, and office action analysis use credits. Paid plans include a credit allowance, and additional credits can be purchased. Check the task screen and pricing page for usage costs and plan allowances.

Question 6

Can I cancel my subscription?

Accepted Answer

You can cancel automatic renewal in subscription settings. Regular paid subscriptions remain available until the current billing period ends; trials and trial credits have separate conditions. Cancelling a subscription does not delete your account.

Question 7

What should I prepare to draft a specification?

Accepted Answer

Describe the invention and its key features, or upload relevant materials. New-matter uploads support PDF, Word, PowerPoint, HWP (.hwp), images, and Markdown (.md), among other formats. Convert HWPX or password-protected documents to PDF or DOCX first.

Question 8

How does Patenty draft a specification?

Accepted Answer

Start by organizing the invention materials and key features, then design the claims and draft the specification around them. You can review and revise the draft in the editor. Check the generated text against your source materials and intended claim scope.

Question 9

Can I inspect the evidence behind prior art results?

Accepted Answer

Search with an invention description or existing materials, then compare relevant references with the invention features. You can inspect retrieved full text and supporting passages from the results. Check the search scope and document availability alongside the findings.

Question 10

Can I compare AI revisions or restore an earlier document?

Accepted Answer

Compare the original and proposed wording before choosing which AI revisions to apply. You can also compare saved document versions and restore an earlier version. Decisions about claim scope and response strategy remain yours.

Question 11

Does Patenty support office action responses?

Accepted Answer

You can review an office action and its cited references, develop a response strategy, and prepare amendment and response drafts. Analysis and drafting availability depend on the jurisdiction and available source documents. EPO in-depth analysis and response-document generation are not currently available.

Question 12

Can patent firms and in-house IP teams work together?

Accepted Answer

Authorized team members can co-edit documents, leave comments, and inspect saved versions. Collaboration availability and sharing limits depend on the plan. Contact us to discuss your team size and access requirements.

Question 13

Which filing jurisdictions are supported?

Accepted Answer

Patenty supports specification drafting and foreign filing translation for filings in Korea, the US, Japan, China, and Europe. Foreign filing translation and office action response have different coverage. Outputs require professional review; electronic filing validation and submission are separate steps.

Question 14

Can I file an AI draft without reviewing it?

Accepted Answer

A patent professional needs to review the draft before filing. Check the invention details, supporting material, claim scope, disclosure requirements, and jurisdiction-specific format. Patenty helps prepare documents; it does not determine patentability or submit applications on your behalf.

Question 15

How are my invention materials processed?

Accepted Answer

Invention materials are not used to train models. Depending on the feature, external AI providers may process the materials, and retention conditions for purposes such as security monitoring vary by provider. See the security policy and subprocessor list for current processing and retention terms.

Question 16

Which document and drawing formats can I export?

Accepted Answer

Specifications can be exported as DOCX, PDF, or HTML. The drawing export menu also offers editable PowerPoint files. Check the required filing format and validation steps for the document type and jurisdiction.
